To be a World Champion is THE DREAM! For me, that was always the goal, "To be the best in the World."  This month PINnacle has 4 wrestlers competing in the World Championships in there respective age division and style. Picture by The Guillotine.

UPDATE-Greg Kerkvliet wins the World title at Cadet worlds! Greg dominated to the finals and then won a hard fought match against a defensive Russian

UPDATE-Mitchell McKee wins a Silver Medal at the Junior Worlds. Mitch had some great matches to make it to the finals, and then was beaten by the Russian.

UPDATE- Emily Shilson tech falls her way to the finals of Cadet Worlds, and then was beaten by a Japanese Women for the Gold.

Mitchell McKee starts us off tonight at the Freestyle Junior(20 under) World Championship in Finland. Mitch will wrestle at 2AM tonight, and you can watch live on Track Wrestling for $9.99. Mitch will wrestle Bolkvadke of Georgia 1st rd. Mitch is 5-time Fargo Champion, and this is his 2nd World Team. Watch out for the head pinch World!

PINnacle coach Pat Smith will compete at the Senior(Olympic level) World Championships in Greco Roman on August 21st in Paris, France. Pat has traveled the world this year to train, and it has paid off with his 1st trip to the Worlds where he will represent the USA at 71kg.  Pat has an incredible pace, and will be looking to break his opponents will, in every match.

Emily Shilson is coming off of 2 Fargo titles and will represent the USA at 43kg at the Cadet(17 under) World Championships in Women's Freestyle in Athens, Greece.  The Olympic birthplace of Greece has been favorable to me in the past, with 2 World Medals. But, I believe Emily has a chance to get that one place higher and win a World Gold. 2on1 and gut wrenches are coming to Greece!

Greg(Daniel) Kerkvliet will also be competing at the Cadet World Championships in the Men's Freestyle division at 100kg.  The Cadet Worlds will be held the first week of September.  Look for Greg to pick his way to that coveted World title!

Have Fun, Score Points, and always Love The Fight!
