SUMMER STRENGTH: This is a crucial time for many wrestlers to build
strength, which is a very important aspect of our sport. We will be having a
summer strength program 3x a week for 8 weeks. We will be doing functional
strength training 1-2x a week, and following the United States Olympic Training
Program for Combat Sports 1-2x a week. This program is for 6th grade
through Adult, and is open to non-wrestlers as well. This will not be a
"go in and lift" program like many HS programs. We have a vested interest
in these kids and want to make them faster, stronger, and more explosive.
We will have structured workouts so it will be important to arrive on time . Josh Mclain,
with assistance from Brandon and Jared, will be running these strength training sessions.
Josh has been our summer camp strength coordinator for the past 2 years.
DATE: June 20th - August 11th;
TIMES: 8-9AM, 9-10AM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. If we have less
than 14 people we will go to one session at 9-10AM but we are expecting 20-25.
