Brady Berge becomes the first PINnacle wrestler to win Super 32, and Jake Bergeland becomes PINnacle's first finalist!

Brady Berge (Kasson Mannorville)won the outstanding wrestler award as he beat the number 4 ranked Hovis in the finals, 5-3.  Brady controlled position throughout the tournament and became PINnacle's first Super 32 champ, but he wasn't the only highlight.

We have be going to the Super 32 tournament for 4 years, and our previous highest placer was Tommy Thorn, who was 3rd.  We have also never placed more than 3 wrestlers in the tournament in 1 year.

This year, we had 3 finalist in Berge, senior Jake Bergeland(Centennial), and senior Jake Allar(STMA).  Bergeland came in as an unranked, unseeded wrestler, but wrestled extremely smart, and a huge quarterfinal win over highly touted Sandoval.  Jake controlled position, and wrestled well in all 3 positions. Allar had a great semifinal match in which he scored a takedown in ot to win.  He ran into a buzzsaw in the finals, but competed hard the whole match.

The other 3 placers Patrick McKee(STMA) 3rd, Greg Kerkvliet(Simley) 4th, and Rylee Molitor(Sartell) 6th, all had outstanding tournaments as well.  Patrick lost in the rd of 16 and came back and beat 6 ranked wrestlers to place 3rd. Kerkvliet is a 15 yr old competing against some men.  But he made many of them look like boys, as he beat the #6th, and 7th ranked wrestlers in the country.  He is getting better and better, watch out for when he becomes confident in his abilities, that will be scary.  Rylee is an uncommitted senior who did himself well this weekend by beating some tough wrestlers on his way to a 6th place finish.  At one point he beat 3 wrestlers in a row from the top wrestling state in the country, Pennsylvania. Rylee controlled 2on1's, and underhooks, and wrestled his match in securing his wins.

We had 15 High School wrestlers compete this year, and all 15 won at least 2 matches.  Peyton Robb lost in OT in the blood round, but competed hard every match. We also had 1 wrestler in the middle school division, and 2 wrestlers in the elementary division. Brandon Morvari(2nd), and Zach Hanson(4th) placed in the tough elementary division
